Let me share about Swar Alaap, run by Dinesh Ghate, a musician passionate about bringing forth the contributions of people “behind the screen” – the various instrumentalists who have given unique sounds and iconic fillers/introductions to various songs that we are aware of.
When Dinesh asked me to write for Swar Alaap in connection with music, I was more than happy to contribute to my favourite topic – Directors and Music.
This is a series of articles wherein we discuss how the great directors of cinema seamlessly wove music into the story so that the music served a purpose – to narrate what was happening – rather than serve as an interruption or ‘break’.
